6FSC#002 - The Hidden Costs of Running a $100K Online Coaching Business
Most coaches think launching an online coaching business is “free.”
The truth? To run an online business that does $100K+ a year, there are some costs.
But here’s the upside: You don’t have in-person costs.
No travel. No facility rentals. No equipment wear and tear.
Every dollar you spend online goes toward delivering value and running a scalable business.
Here’s what it costs me—and what you can expect when you’re serious about coaching online.
Recurring Costs (Monthly Tools You Need)
- A Coaching Platform to Host Your Courses
- I use Kajabi to hold courses, run the community, and automate my systems.

The Big Advantage of Coaching Online
When you coach in person, you’re dealing with:
- Facility rentals
- Equipment getting beat up
- Being tied to a physical location
- Gas, travel, and wear on your car
- Reschedules (and no money if there’s a reschedule)
- Cutting your lesson time in half (a 1 hr lesson turns into 2 hrs often)
But with an online coaching business:
- No travel.
- No wasted time.
- No facility costs or splits.
- More leverage (bc of content).
The tools you pay for upfront let you coach more people, more efficiently, and scale your business to $100K+ without being tied to a location.
So what’s the true cost?
These hidden costs aren’t just “expenses”—they’re investments.
They help you:
- Deliver results to clients faster.
- Create content that builds trust.
- Create freedom for you to travel or move.
- Build a compounding business where you can serve a world-wide market.
Is this a trade-off you’d take?
I would!
