6FSC: #004 - The “Diversified” Online Sports Coach
Are you building your coaching business like a pro—or are you stuck with only one stream of revenue?
If you’re only selling coaching, your income is tied directly to your time.
- Miss a lesson? No pay.
- Want to scale? It takes more time.
Even if you’re coaching online it still takes time to coach your students.
I believe you need multiple streams of revenue that work for you—even when you’re not physically present.
Here’s a screenshot from a recent few days in my online sports coaching business: Catching Made Simple.
It has 3 big revenue sources I believe every coach should have (even if you coach in-person):
1️⃣ Coaching Program (Blue)
This is your high-touch, premium offer for clients. It delivers a specific outcome and commands a higher price because of the value it provides.
Example: The Complete Catcher Protocol ($999).
Not sure how to structure your offer? Download this checklist and it will show you how.
2️⃣ Subscription (Orange)
A monthly membership is the backbone of recurring revenue in your business. It’s consistent, scalable, and builds long-term client relationships.
If you have recurring expenses, you should have recurring income.
Example: Catching Made Simple Membership ($49/week or $99/month).
3️⃣ Courses (Green)
Courses allow you to serve more people without trading your time. They can be:
- Low-ticket: Small wins for clients at a price point like $4.99.
- High-ticket: More comprehensive solutions, like $297 for a course bundle.
Example: CMS Method ($4.99) and All Catching Made Simple Courses ($297).
Why Diversify?
Diversifying your revenue streams allows you to:
- Stabilize your income by tapping into multiple streams.
- Offer solutions at different price points to serve more clients.
- Free yourself from burnout by creating scalable options.
- Turn a lead into a customer on a lower ticket option.
In the image above, you’ll see an example of a sustainable revenue mix. With a diversified approach, you’re not just building income—you’re building freedom.
Shouldn’t you only diversify AFTER you make 100k?
Sort of.
We want to focus on getting a core coaching offer working, successful, and profitable before selling a course.
But I do think having a few courses available will help you generate some additional revenue without having to spend much more time.
When I first started Catching Made Simple I spent a bunch of time building my Blocking Made Simple course and couldn’t sell it for $27.
Looking back, I wish I would have focused more on getting a productized coaching program up and running more quickly.
I would have made a lot more money much faster!
In the next newsletter we’ll talk about building a “product suite” for your coaching business.
Your Next Steps
It really depends on where you’re currently at.
One of the things I’ve implemented recently in my coaching program is “The Next Right Thing”
Basically, it’s a simple checklist that shows the next right thing for every coach to work on based on the “phase” they’re in.
If you want help identifying it for you, just shoot me a DM on instagram.
Let’s win together,

P.S. Whenever you’re ready, here’s how I can help:
- Challenge - Go through the free 100K Sports Coach Challenge to get started.
- Courses - Get courses and workshop recordings on content creation, program building, tech setup, and client enrollment.
- Coaching - Schedule a consultation with me, and we’ll map out your program together.
Pick one, and let’s get started.
